How It Works:

People have been using licorice root for centuries in many different cultures. This herb's root contains plant sterols, which improve skin elasticity and fight inflammation and wrinkle formation.

Licorice extract also contains glycyrrhizin, an acid with an important role in increasing steroid hormones in the skin. Glycyrrhizin combats several skin disorders that respond to topically applied hydrocortisone.

Licorice extract also can help soothe irritation caused by external factors.
